Planning Performance Agreement
National Grid and the affected local authorities had an agreement in principle to enter into a Planning Performance Agreement (PPA) covering the Bramford to Twinstead Connection Project.
PPAs are recommended by the Department for Communities and Local Government and the Planning Inspectorate as a means of providing greater certainty in regard to the delivery and quality of large-scale planning application assessments and decisions.
The PPA encourages the local authorities and National Grid to work together through regular communication and exchanges of information. The PPA applies only to the delivery of the programme. It does not affect or influence the local authorities' recommendations to the Planning Inspectorate.
Following the announcement to place the project on hold it was also agreed to place the PPA on hold until further notice. The terms of the PPA will be reviewed and discussed with the local authorities when the project resumes.
